Care and development

Protective care and a place to belong.

Programs for children, youth, women, seniors, and persons with disabilities provide protective care, life skills, psychosocial support, and safe spaces. The organization cares for older people as it would its own mothers and fathers, providing space for recreation, sharing, faith expression, and medical assistance.

Feeding program

A shared meal can restore more than hunger.

Community feeding serves healthy and nutritious meals to children in public schools, seniors, patients in hospitals, people in jails, and people experiencing homelessness. Food packs are also provided to families in need.

Livelihood projects and skills training

Training that can become income.

Livelihood training supports the human development and empowerment of farmers, out-of-school youth, and women. Mushroom fruit bags are distributed to poor families for livelihood and income-generating work through sponsorship and subsidy. The work promotes community-based farming in family backyards, homes, schools, farm areas, and vacant lots for food sustainability and security; it also encourages women and young farmers to value the land and work together in community and family farming.

Rehabilitation and reintegration

Ako Ang Saklay’s work with persons who use drugs supports a community-based rehabilitation program with counseling, values formation, and reintegration. This work also calls on people in power and authority to protect those who have less in life, and invites every sector to collaborate in a spirit of shared mission and shared responsibility.
